How we pick products
The research process behind every NexoWell Sprint guide, and the rules we follow so you can trust our picks.
Every buying guide on NexoWell Sprint follows the same process. This page explains what we do, what we don't do, and how we keep guides accurate over time.
Step 1: Build the shortlist
We start with the products people actually buy. That means the best-selling and best-reviewed items in each Amazon category, plus well-known brands that players and coaches ask about. We remove listings with too few reviews to judge, obvious duplicates and products that do not meet the basic needs of the category.
Step 2: Compare the specs that matter
For each category we decide which specs change the experience the most, then compare them side by side. For a pickleball paddle that means face material, core thickness, weight and grip size. For a youth glove it means size, material and break-in. We use manufacturer specifications and note when a spec is missing or unclear.
Step 3: Check standards and safety
Where a sport has a governing standard, we check it. Examples include USA Pickleball approval for paddles, bat certifications such as USA Baseball, USSSA and BBCOR, and NOCSAE certification for football helmets. We never recommend protective gear that does not meet the relevant standard.
Step 4: Read real buyer feedback
Specs don't tell you what breaks after a month. We read verified buyer reviews to find recurring patterns, such as grips that peel, sizing that runs small, nets that sag or batteries that fade. One bad review is noise. The same complaint from many buyers is a signal, and we call it out in the "Keep in mind" section of each pick.
Step 5: Pick by need
We don't rank products from one to ten. Instead we name one clear winner for each kind of buyer: beginners, families, budget shoppers, gift givers and players ready to upgrade. That way you can jump straight to the pick that fits you.
Step 6: Keep it current
Prices, models and availability change constantly. We re-check our guides regularly, replace products that are discontinued or slip in quality, and update the date at the top of each guide when we make changes.
What we don't do
- We don't accept payment for placement or rankings.
- We don't claim to have tested products in person when we haven't. When a guide is based on research rather than hands-on testing, it says so.
- We don't publish fake reviews, star ratings or test scores.
- We don't show prices that can go out of date. We link to the retailer so you always see the current price.
Affiliate links
Some links on our site are affiliate links, including Amazon Associate links. If you buy through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This keeps the site free, and it never changes which products we recommend. See our affiliate disclosure for details.

Frequently asked questions
Do you test every product?
No. Most guides are based on structured research: specs, standards and verified buyer feedback. When we test something in person, the guide says so.
How often are guides updated?
We re-check guides regularly and whenever a product is discontinued, changes significantly or drops in quality.
Can brands send products for review?
Brands can contact us, but sending a product does not guarantee coverage or a positive review, and we disclose any free products we receive.
