Why we recommend it: It is the most-reviewed golf net on Amazon. Golfers mention quality, easy assembly, value, sturdiness and size most. The net is designed to take real balls with every club, and the ball-return design rolls most balls back toward the hitting area so you spend less time collecting them.

Why we recommend it: Netting lets you build exactly the space you have, from a backstop behind a portable net to a full hitting bay. Golfers praise its quality, sturdiness and value. You can cut it to size and tie it up with the included rope.
Keep in mind: It is netting only, with no frame. You need hooks, posts or a ceiling frame to hang it.
Alternative kit: the 10 x 7 ft net with chipping net adds a separate chipping target with three zones and 16mm fiberglass poles. Choose it instead of the Bearwill if you want short-game practice too.

How much space do you need for a golf net?
- Width: at least 10 to 12 feet, so the club and your hands have room at the top of the swing.
- Depth: stand about 8 to 10 feet in front of a 10 x 7 ft net, plus the net’s own depth of a few feet.
- Height: at least 9 to 10 feet of ceiling for a full driver swing indoors. Many garages are 8 feet, which works for irons with a shorter swing but not a full driver.
Swing a club slowly in the space before you buy, to check the ceiling and walls.

Golf net for the garage: setup tips
- Check ceiling height and lights before swinging. Cover or move light fittings.
- Hang barrier netting behind and around the main net to catch mishits.
- Use a thick hitting mat on concrete to protect clubs, wrists and elbows.
- Leave space for cars, or choose a net that folds away quickly.
- Shanks happen. Keep windows and cars out of the line of fire.
Real golf balls or practice balls?
All the nets in this guide are made for real golf balls, which give real feedback on strike and ball flight. Foam or plastic practice balls are quieter and safer in tight spaces, but they do not show your true ball flight. Many golfers use real balls into the net and foam balls for chipping around the house.
Do you need a golf hitting mat?
Yes. Hitting off grass wrecks the lawn, and hitting off concrete can damage clubs and hurt wrists and elbows. A good mat should be thick enough to let the club slide through and hold a real tee. Kits like the Bearwill and the budget tri-turf kit include one.
Golf net with an impact screen or simulator
Some golfers upgrade a net into a home simulator by adding an impact screen, projector and launch monitor. That costs far more and needs a lot of space. A good net and mat are the best first step, and they still give useful practice even without a simulator.
Are golf nets loud?
Real balls hitting a net make a soft thud, much quieter than hitting into a wall, but the club striking the ball is still loud in a closed garage. Nets with a target cloth or silencer panel in the middle reduce the slap of the ball. If neighbors are close, practise at reasonable hours and consider foam balls for evening sessions.
How long do golf nets last?
A quality nylon or polyester net used a few times a week usually lasts several seasons outdoors. The center, where most balls hit, wears first, so a target cloth helps. Take the net down or cover it in winter, check the frame joints for cracks, and replace a torn net before balls start getting through.
Practice ideas with a golf net
- Strike drills: spray foot powder on the clubface to see where you hit the ball.
- Tempo: count “one, two” on the backswing and downswing for smooth rhythm.
- Targets: aim for the center of the target cloth with every club.
- Pre-shot routine: practise the same routine you use on the course before every swing.
