Junior Golf Club Size Chart
Enter your child’s height (or age) to find the right junior golf set size, how many clubs they need and roughly how long the driver should be.

What size golf clubs for my child?
Buy junior clubs by height, not age. Roughly: under 42 in use a 3-club starter set, 42 to 47 in a 4 to 5 club set, 48 to 53 in 5 to 6 clubs, 54 to 61 in 6 to 8 clubs, and from about 65 in an adult or shortened set.

Why junior clubs must fit
Cut-down adult clubs are too heavy and stiff for children. They force kids to swing with their arms and develop poor habits. Proper junior clubs are lighter, have more flexible shafts and larger grips sized for small hands, so kids can make a full, balanced swing and get the ball in the air.
How many clubs does a child need?
Young beginners need very few: a fairway wood or driver, a hybrid or mid iron, a wedge and a putter. More clubs only confuse small children. Add clubs as they grow and start playing full courses.
When to move up a size
Move up when your child has grown 3 to 4 inches, when they start choking down a lot on the grip, or when the club looks short at address. Many junior brands offer trade-in or upgrade programs.
Left-handed kids
Let your child try both sides with a club or a plastic set. Most children who are left-handed for throwing also prefer to swing left-handed, but not all. Left-handed junior sets are widely available.
